One of the major points of participating in a walk for a cause is fundraising. Outside of spreading awareness for the particular disease that you are walking for, you want to raise money that will go towards organizations that are working to both spread awareness and find a cure. - Have a yard sale. If one of your team members is willing to host a yard sale, then that would be a great way to do a little fundraising for your walk. Each team member would bring some items that they want to sell. You’d be surprised how much cash you can bring in by selling old books, movies, furniture and other items that you don’t use anymore.
- Reach out to local businesses. Restaurants, concert venues, movie theaters, or local boutiques might be willing to have a special promotional sale at their venue in which part of the proceeds would go towards your fundraising efforts. You could work out an arrangement with them and market the sale or event as a team.
